Rules & Other Information

1.      Jr. Dues must be paid before May 1, 2017

2.      Upon paying for your yearly Junior membership you will be entered into the sweepstakes program.  You must be a Jr. member of the Oregon Pork Producers at the time of entering the sweepstakes.

3.      You must be Youth PQA Plus certified to be eligible for Sweepstakes Points

4.      There will be three age divisions as of January 1, 2017:  Junior (12 & Under), Intermediate (13-16) Senior (17-21).

5.      There will be three divisions – Market/Prospect, Breeding, and Showmanship.  You can enter as many or as few of these divisions as you would like.

6.      In order for a show’s points to count toward your all-around score, you must be entered for the sweepstakes prior to the show.

7.      You may compete in as many shows as you like – there is no minimum number of shows that you must participate in to be eligible.  You need to enter the sweepstakes only once.

8.      Points will be accumulated from January 1, 2017 to September 1, 2017.  Awards will be presented at the Oregon State Fair during the Swine Supreme Drive.

9. There will be awards to the champions and reserve champion in the divisions listed below at the end of the sweepstakes circuit.

Points System:

Points will be awarded based on the number of entries in each division in each show.  (Example: If you have a 1st place pig and there are 125 market hogs you would get .25×125 = 31.25pts for that class)
Points will be awarded for every class entered at each show as follows for overall sweepstakes ranking.

1st:  .25 pts            2nd: .20 pts            3rd: .15 pts            4th: .10 pts            5th: .05 pts

Extra points will also be given to the Champion and Reserve Champion in each of the three divisions that are offered at each show

Champion: .50 pts            Reserve Champion: .40 pts 

State Fair 4-H & FFA Classes will only be worth the following and will be used in the event of a tie:

1st:  .12.5 pts            2nd: .10 pts            3rd: .07.5 pts            4th: .05 pts            5th: .025 pts

Extra points will also be given to the Champion and Reserve Champion in each of the three divisions that are offered at each show

Champion: .25 pts            Reserve Champion: .20 pts 

You will receive an additional 10pts at the end of the circuit if you Oregon bred and owned your pig or you purchased pigs by May 15, 2017 from an OPP member.  Must be verified by a sales slip or receipt provided before state fair.
